Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
As I read the posts of all the people that have recently added a second doodle to their families or those stories of a sick doodle seeking out the comfort of their doggie sibling, I can’t help but struggle to fight off the green eyed monster
Please don’t get me wrong. I am filled with such happiness when I read these success stories but then I feel that happiness getting a nice swift kick from my jealous side.
I would so love to have 2 happy fluffy doodles that loved each other as much as they love me. I would love to look up from my DK computer time and see them snuggling together on the couch
instead of always being worried that one wrong glance or a toy or a treat will turn 2 fluffy doodles into a snarling, growling, pile of fur
Sigh…Maybe someday. Till then, here’s hoping that all the happy stories continue and that I get to keep reading about all that wonderful doodle love.

Amy, so glad you are continuing to work with Cubbie and Ollie and that you have been rewarded by some improvement. Keep telling your story: it is important for people who are considering adding a second doodle to the family.
Thanks, Amy. Small consolation after today's walk. Grrrrrrr.....we had to do some sits and some corrections and I even tried explaining to them that I was trying to take pictures :)
But Laurie, if you had two doodles that walked perfectly together, we wouldn't have gotten to enjoy some of your great blogs!
I guess I'm lucky we have none of this. They calmly wait side by side for their turn when I give a treat. Luca sometimes takes toys like a ball from Calla but she lets him. I hope you too get to enjoy doodle peace.
Jane, it sounds like Guinness makes good use of his smaller size and can retreat quickly to a Murphy free zone. You have had is worse than I have with Murphy and I really admire how strong you have been through it all. I really admire your dedication to your family and your dogs.
Nancy, I'm with you on the dogs jumping on your guests. I just got a new 4 panel gate to protect my guests as they enter the house. lol. I know that i'm not fixing the cause of the problem just the end result but this will have to do until DH is back out here and we can kick up the training.
Amy, I can't even imagine how hard that would be for you. I hope things even off now that you are settled. You have done an amazing job with the dogs. If it is any consolation, I am a little envious of people who can walk two dogs without wanting to kill re-home them and those that can romp with their dogs. I have a non-romper :) I guess we get what we get and work to make it the best it can be for our families. Hopefully, at some point they will just get over it! Keep doing what you are doing. Two months sounds pretty good. Good luck!!
Amy, I know how tough this has been for all of you. You've done such a great job of helping C & O work through this, and I'm very hopeful about the progress that has been made. I truly believe that with everything you're doing things will keep improving. My guys are fine most of the time, but every now and then Murph "loses it" and goes after Guinness. Guinness is fast and has hiding places all over the house (under bed, tables, chairs) where Murph can't get to him. Outside is an issue if they're off leash, and it takes two of us to manage that situation. Murph has never actually bitten Guinness, he just hits him with his body and Guinness goes flying and gets really scared. They can have one of these "incidents" and then the next thing I see is the two of them curled up together in the same bed....WTD?
You are one of my heroes for continuing to work with your doodles socialization to each other. I am glad that there has been improvement with your move and hope it continues until one day you look up from your computer and see them snuggling together. I get envious of people who can leave a dog or two home without the dog resorting to howling. I am envious of people who have an RV and leave their dogs without a barkfest happening and then getting a call from the 'desk' insisting I immediately asking me to return to my RV. And I am envious - really envious - of people who have successfully trained their multiple dogs not to mob the door and jump on those who enter.
Joanna, they are "better". We've gone almost 2 whole months without an actual fight. There have been minor issues that I've had to break up and separate them for a bit, but it is better. Not as carefree and peaceful as a lot of the other stories here on DK, but I am happy for the progress that has been made.
