Happy 2nd Birthday, Samantha!

Today my girl turns 2!

Dear Samantha,

I am so thankful for the day we found each other. Your sister, Marissa, and I were on our way from Home Depot to Costco when we decided to 'just look' in the pet store. There I saw a magnificent chocolate bundle of puppy. Then you opened those magnificent eyes of yours and looked me straight in the eye - it was love at first sight! You were home with us in less than 2 hours. I wonder what would have happened if you didn't open your eyes at just that moment. We never did get to Costco that day but we did come home with the best gift ever!! Did I ever tell you were my Mother's Day gift 2008? The best one ever!!

Your Mom didn't know about BYB and Puppy Mills then but because of you I found DK. Through DK I found friends who opened my eyes and in turn I have been able to open the eyes of my family, friends and total strangers I meet. Because of you, your Mom and sisters Marissa and Suzanne, have opened their hearts, minds and Marissa has even opened her home to a foster (Dublin) and I am sure Suzanne will too, to the world of Doodle Rescue. If it wasn't for you I would never have learned about the seedy, other side in the world of that so many Doodles live in. There was a reason....

Samantha, you are the most wonderful of humanlike dogs. You are incredibly special - just ask anyone who meets you. You bring a smile to so many faces. You have allowed people who are afraid of dogs overcome that fear - just ask Aunties Clara and Felicia. You helped Mickey overcome so many fears in his young life. If it wasn't for you, he may never have left that step he was glued to when he came to live with us last year. You have allowed Charli move in on your DD and me - 'your territory'. You blow us away with your graciousness in sharing your toys when we have a foster move in with us temporarily. You bring smiles to the faces of seniors with your ball obsessive tricks!

You are so special!! I don't know how are family got so darned lucky to have found you! and I thank G-d everyday that we did.

Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes! My Mom brought birthday cupcakes all the way from New Jersey that our friend, Claire from friedasfavorites.com made for me. I think Mom shares them with Charli and I when we aren't looking - but that's okay. We love her! We just pretend we don't see it! Woof Out Loud (WOL)
