It's been 3 months since I said good bye to my Gus . He is still missed so very much and while I cherrish the great memories, sometimes they make me so sad. Today was major cleaning day which meant moving almost every piece of furniture in the living room to vacuum, dust, wipe, and re-arrainge. All his life, when even the smallest thing was moved, Gus would always be right there under my feet and in the way of the vacuum sniffing out anything interesting (usually popcorn) that may have fallen and been hiding just out of his reach until then. I was always shooing him from one place to another as the moving and cleaning went and laughing the whole time. So, today while moving everything and cleaning I laughed at this memory then had a several moments of tears because there was no Gus "in the way". It's funny how something so simple can make you smile and cry at the same time.......

Sweet Gus is looking down on you - this certainly brings tears to my eyes as my Chihuahua approaches 10yo with kidney disease. I cannot imagine my life without him and he and Peri are my first dogs on my own and I just get sick thinking about them dying one day. It's so hard to think about having a dog for only x years, but they are so worth it ;) HUGS
Its funny how the smallest things can bring a tear to our eyes... I cried the other day while looking at pictures of my sweet Winston. He passed away almost 3 years ago!
Hugs to you.
Bless you, Cathy. Losing our precious pets is so incredibly hard. I am glad there were times you could smile through the tears at the memories of your sweet Gus' antics. What a dear friend.
Cathy, Gus sounds like he was a very special dog! Enjoy those sweet memories, even if they make you cry. He was loved! Hugs to you!
I am glad you have some smiles even with the tears - he sounds like he was a special boy that was very loved.
Gus sounds like he was a very special dog. Enjoy your fond memories. Hugs to you.
Gus sounds like he was a sweetie and a "curious george" just like Luna.
Hugs to you and your family.
