THIS HOLIDAY SEASON, THE GIFT OF HOPE FOR HUNDREDS OF HOMELESS  DOODLES MEANS SO MUCH MORE…

 

We’ve all seen and read DRCs rescue posts and updates here on DK….One heartbreak  turned “Happy Tale” after another. Every day Doodles of all ages, colors, sizes and coat types are being rescued from situations that literally break my heart. Many have endured unimaginable horrors.  Many are sick…very sick.  Many are scared, heartbroken or have lost hope. But they are Doodles with inspiring spirits.  All they want is for the pain to stop and to know they are safe, and loved.  Knowing that these dogs with issues are most in-need of help, DRC has been taking in “hardship doodles” since the very beginning. The generous and unwavering support of our friends here on DK, has made this possible.

Due to the current state of the economy, the increase of doodles in need, and the significant increase in vetting expenses, DRC is relying on the generosity of our friends and supporters now more than ever.  

So to help raise funds for Red’s hip replacement surgery, for the 6 new heartworm cases awaiting treatment in Texas and Tennessee and for Brinkley, the 8 month old blind and partially deaf girl we have been asked to take from a California shelter, we are raffling five DRC tote bags full of “Doodle goodies.”

That’s right! It’s “Holiday Raffle time!” These sturdy canvas bags were designed by our own Nina Whitefield and each bag is packed with an assortment of cool “Doodle stuff” including everything you need to make Nina’s famous Doggie B Goode treats and cookies!

Wouldn’t your Doodle love to find that under the tree?  Anyone donating at least $25.00 to DRC is eligible to win one of these great gift bags. Each canvas tote bag has 2 pockets and comes complete with the DRC logo on one side and our favorite DRC photo and quote on the other.

Okay now for my favorite part….THE BLING! 

Anyone who donates $100 or more to DRC (beginning now) will automatically receive an official DRC Paw Print necklace! 

Handcrafted in sterling silver with a beautiful Swarovski crystal in the center, each paw print charm and 18 inch sterling silver chain comes in a velvet and satin box wrapped in paw print paper!  It’s a perfect gift for any animal lover.  I love it!…It will be my present from the “Irish Brothers”.  I just know they want me to have it!  I’ll wear it and know that in a small way I’m helping DRC help Doodles like Matt, Midnight, Dakota Red and others…..

My Yappy Hour friends are aware of a DRC announcement that I’m really excited about.  In the next week or two we will begin to sell DRC WINE!  We know that many of our “Yappers” love their wine….I won’t mention any names, but you all know who we are.  Here’s the best part….there will be a DRC Doodle on the label of each wine bottle.  Who are these Doodles, you’re wondering.? Let me just say you know them all well.  I’ll give you a hint about one of them….five letters, and the first one is “M” and the last is “Y”.  Hmmm…I wonder.  More to come on the details of how to order the wine shortly…I promise.

Jane, Toys R Us will do it every time. I thank all the powers that be that I have no descendants who are still interested in anything sold at T-R-Us, and with any luck, I won't live long enough to see any great-grandchildren!

OMD Karen!  I wish it was the wine...I must be losing it.  There will be a bottle of DRC wine in each bag...we don't have the actual pictures of the bottles yet, but we'll post them as soon as we do.  I don't know why I had so much trouble posting this blog...and the one I thought was lost must have actually been there, because Adina found two.  Way to much going on today....spent several hours at Toys-R-Us and that's a good way to fry your brain.
