So we took Harper into Petsmart to get her final "puppy package" grooming. This typically includes a bath, brush/dry out, nail trim, ear cleaning and cute little bow. Since she isn't quite 5 months old, she still definitely has that puppy look, and is such a cute little fluffball! She has however been matting a little lately, and there were a few under her chin that we haven't been able to fully take care of when brushing her at home...

Well Zach brought her in while I was at work, and told them NOT to trim/cut her in any way, because we love her long hair and fluffy little face.

We pick her up and...THEY CUT ALL OF HER ADORABLE HAIR OFF OF HER FACE!!! Of course I absolutely freaked when I saw her, because she looked so strange...but-you can actually see her eyes! After freaking out for 5 minutes or so, I realized that she actually looked pretty darn cute. So although they completely ignored everything we said, I am kind of happy with how she looks...although she still does have a few mats under her chin that are driving me bonkers. I don't think we'll continue going to Petsmart, but I've got to hand it to them for giving us quite the pleasant surprise today!

That is the very same reason I stopped using my local Petsmart here in Mansfield. They shaved my Cassie because they didn't want to work out a couple mats. I haven't been back there since!

With the zip groom you actually have a scheduled time, and your dog isn't crated at all. They prefer that you not stay right with the dog while they're working, because the dog us usually excited, and it makes it more difficult. I sit in the store where I can still see what's going on (but Guinness can't see me). That way If I see anything I don't like I can stop them before it's "too late". The trick is getting the hair on his face short enough not to be in his eyes, but long enough so he still looks like a doodle.

Sorry that Petsmart didn't listen to your request, I hope they offered to do another grooming free for you, although I would be leary to take her back after the first booboo. One consulation to a bad hair day is that underneath all the fur, or loss of fur....we still have our dogs with their loving personality, and that will always be there. You still look very sweet Harper....

Her face lloks adorable!! They did a nice job on her feet, too! I assume they did what they thyought they 'had to' but not to call you first to get your permission is a huge No No.
