Has it really been three weeks?

We've had Lily for three full weeks now and I don't think we could love her more! She is an absolute joy to have around the house. The first week or so was kind of rough but she has really settled in. Lily loves coming with us on car trips, visiting new friends and even enjoys her trips to the vet! She is hilarious to watch play, we joke that she's our little OCD puppy because she always has her toys gathered with her in one corner. When she gets up and moves she will make 5 or 6 trips to bring all her toys with her and lines them all up. So cute!!

We had Lily enrolled in puppy classes at Petsmart but our vet advised us that she is probably still young and recommended a one-on-one trainer for her. We figure she's only a puppy once so we're going to splurge and take a few lessons with her. She already knows how to sit and come, hopefully she will be a quick learner.

Apparently Lily loves her Orijen because she's growing quickly! In the past two weeks she has almost doubled her body weight and is close to 10 lbs now. I swear she looks bigger than that but I guess that most of her is her shaggy little coat (which is lightening up now!) Lily is such a friendly little girl and we couldn't be happier with her temperament and disposition. I would have to say that I highly recommend Teddy Bear Golden Doodles (her breeder) from Alabama as we have had a great experience with them so far! Lily's vet is so impressed with her. =)

As she starts her training I'll post more updates (and hopefully some videos!) but for now we are just so thrilled with our gorgeous girl. She has won over every member of the family! I already want another Doodle! LOL

Hi Meg. I don't want to be too negative here, the OCD thing might seem funny now, but obsessive behavior can be problematic later on. Just be careful not to encourage it. And yeah that fluffy look does make them appear heavier, last time we went to the vet, we met a boxer pup the same weight as Penny, but looked half the size. Penny's legs seem to go on forever, then again she is a bigger model than Lily...hee hee!

Aren't doodles just the greatest! We are absolutely hooked also. Two dogs are actually better than one, but enjoy her puppyhood before you think of getting another puppy. She sounds like a very intelligent pup. Enjoy every minute.
