Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

My wife's niece and her husband along with their two kids are going to visit us for a couple of day's in July.  The two kids are great, they have visited us before and have learned to love our dogs.  However, the niece and her hubby do not like dogs and think that they are dirty.

Rather than have any arguments I am posting a framed copy of this in full view.

CROWE HOUSE RULES

If you object to a dog being affectionate

If you object to a dog being playful

If you object to a dog on the furniture

If you object to a little barking

PLEASE REMEMBER

This is our dogs’ house, not yours…

BTW:  I don't trust anyone who dislikes dogs and I have a valid reason not to trust the hubby who tried to hit on our daughter when his wife was pregnant...

GUESS WHAT!  We told them that they would have to share our home with a dozen dogs (Holly and our four resident Maltese plus the seven foster Maltese who are sharing our home presently.  They opted to get a motel room.  DARN THE BAD LUCK!

I can assure you that if he'd tried to hit on my daughter, he'd never set foot in my house, again!  The only posting he'd see at my place would be a list out of the phone directory...for local motels where he could stay!

Love your house rules.  They are spot on!

I like the house rules-right to the truth!

Perfect rules. People who don't like dogs or animals in general are not to be trusted and i don't like them in our home.

BTW:  I am absolutely sure that no one involved will visit this site or read the statement I made.  I would not have stated it otherwise.  No my wife's niece doesn't know and he also doesn't know that our daughter shared this with us.

He has most likely forgotten the hit he tried to make but, every time I see him (which luckily isn't often) I wonder who he is fooling around with...

Great set of rules; unfortunately, the hubby sounds too self-absorbed to see that it applies to him!  Yuck!!!

oh my goodness, the husband sounds like a complete pig. Ew.

Good call on the list...I suggest you post it in every room of the house :)

So funny.  I USED to be one of those "didn't like dogs" kinda people - I never had one of mine own before.  I hated the drool & slobber, the shedding and the thought of being tied down - "sorry, I have to leave now, I have to get home and let Buster out".

Then, I got a Doodle.  The drool, slobber and shedding don't apply to Rua.  And then there was my last objection.  Tied down, hardly.  I actually passed up an offer from my DH to go out to one of my favorite restaurants for dinner yesterday...yup, you got it, I didn't want to be away from Rua.

I told my DH we are taking Rua out for dinner for her first birthday!  I am hoping one of the restaurants in Omaha that has outside dining will allow dogs.  I am going to start making inquiries now!

The guy doesn't have the best morals or integrity, does he?

My two sisters are coming from CA for Rua's birthday later this month...my sister Dawn has two dogs and my other sister April lives close by to Dawn so she knows what it's like.  I am going to have to make our own Rua Rules!  Thanks for the idea!
