Hunter's Progress

I just wanted to share how much progress Hunter has made. This guy is truly the love of my life except for my dh...lol. Hunter has made major improvements when walking on the leash and I definitely owe that success to doodle kisses members you guys are always so helpful and I for one appreciate it so much. For the last 3 days he has almost completely stopped pulling which make our walks something I really look forward too, I just love them. So Hunter is now 6 months 3 weeks old and the following is all the things we have accomplished.

1) Sit

2) Laydown

3) Stay (still working on this)

4) Sits, shakes hands and gives a kiss before he is allowed to eat, then I make him focus on me before release to eat. In our first puppy class they told me that a puppy should always have to work for what they want like food, it really works.

5) Loose leash walking which is required for him to pass his CGC test, he is in constant training in this area but doing great.

6) Crate trained

7) Housebroken

8) Fetchs toys by name

When I list everything like this I really feel so good about what this little guy has accomplished at such a young age. I just wanted to show that anybody out there that gets frustrated like I have thinking we will never get there, believe me there is light at the end of the tunnel. These precious babies are so worth it. I am so very grateful that I have found doodle kisses.

Well done to you for all your hard work and look what you have achieved...just bear in mind you are never done with training. I still do it every day if only for a few minutes just to remind my boys who is the actual boss around here :)

I just wanted to say thanks for commenting on our progress, Hunter says thanks and appreciates it. Everyday we are getting so much better and way calmer he still has his moments but I think the key is repetition for everything....they are just so smart. I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoy this little guy. My dh is very ill and has dialysis Monday and Friday and we have been doing this over the last 3 1/2 years so for me Hunter is such a comfort and a joy in our life.
