I am proud of local "Petland"!!!

Today, my little girl client wanted to go see the puppies. OK, so off we went to Petland near her house. We walked in, and went toward the puppy glass cages, and there were something different about them..... Yes, all of the cages were filled with dogs/puppies.....But.... All of the dogs and puppies in the cages were from 3 ~4 different local shelters!!!! Each puppies/dog had a tag showing which shelter he/she belonged to and few descriptions of them. They also indicated informations in regard to the vetting that were done on them. One of the worker told us that this particular Petland no longer sells puppies and dogs from "Breeders", and only assist on adoptions. I was sooo excited!!!

The best part was that, there was a beautiful goldendoodle roaming in the store, and the worker told me that he belongs to the store owner!!!! Doodle owner rocks!!!!

Yeah ....... there's hope!   We have a new Pet store getting ready to open in our little Village anytime now.  I so hope it doesn't sell puppies.  I also hope they carry some descent stuff but find it hard to believe it will.  It will be within walking distance for me and the girls and that would be great.  I saw a posting on CL about 6 months ago where they were looking for shelving and I responded saying 1) I hoped they would carry some high end food and 2) I certainly hoped they didn't intend to sell puppies.  They didn't respond ....... we shall see.

I love this!!! Now if only other stores can follow this idea....I think we'd have a lot less crowded shelters! I'm so happy!

Marissa told me that the other day and I just couldn't believe it! Shocked, speechless and just thrilled!! Someone in the Petland world has a heart and conscious!!!

Wow that is wonderful!!!!  There is a very big store here in Ft Myers and I just can't even go in there.  All those cute little puppies from mills.  Makes me sick.
