My new gardener's name is Finn. I did not get my garden cleaned up in the fall so all my dead plants are still sitting there. We won't go into why they didn't get done. (procrastination) So I guess Finn has decided to help me out. He is breaking off the dead plants but unfortunately he is shredding them into pieces and tracking them all over the house. See for yourself.......pic attached. Well I didn't like this mess so I decided it was time to go and clean the garden which I did. Again, Finn is helping me by digging new holes for when I start planting again. The only problem is now I have mud tracked all over the house. Not sure yet which is worse but now I have extra cleaning to do and no time for gardening so I guess I'll let Finn do it.

Last winter we had a Rose of Sharon bush that was probably 4' tall. The girls ate it down to the ground over the winter. it came back and did fine. This winter they haven't gotten out to play enough with all the snow to eat anything but I notice that their interest in bushes and sticks isn't nearly what it was last year. The can dig a hole though ..... I suspect I will one day break an ankle in the yard stepping in one of Lucy's holes. It takes no time at all for her to dig a hole.

Is that Finn's hard hat in the background? Does he do construction work, too?
He certainly does look very proud of his work, lol!

I have two of those gardeners too. Calla particularly loves digging holes, enough so that although she looks sheepish when I tell her how bad she is, she continues to do it. I've thought about a sand box or something but I'd rather they just stop.
