Today was a really fun day, because we hiked up the golf course trail. My sister and I usually take a swim in the pond behind the big house, but there were no ducks in the water. Instead, we decided to check out the fairway on the other side of the pond, and immediately picked up some very interesting scents. Suddenly, a dear jumped out from the woods and ran across the grass, so we took off full speed, chasing it all the way across the golf course, until we came to a dead-end street, where two guys came driving towards us in a small white cart. They both got out and started yelling, and one even threatened us with his golf club! We had to back off, and of course the deer got away. I could hear my Mom calling us from far far away; she sounded pretty angry. We decided it was best to bag the chase and return to the trail. The guys in the white cart started to follow us, but they were way too slow to come even close. On the way back, we saw a patch of bright green grass with a flag pole in the middle; it was so soft and really easy to leave our foot prints in! I found a golf ball in a small hole in the ground by the flag and dug it out; who’d be so crazy to leave a ball in a hole??? I gave the ball to my Mom, when we finally made it back to her. For some reason, she didn’t seem too happy, and was in a real hurry to disappear into the woods, so the guys in the white cart couldn’t get to us and yell some more. I’d love to go back to the golf course real soon, so I can find more golf balls, or chase some pesky wildlife. I just hope my Mom won't swear as much next time.

Tee cheers from Rocky.

LOL, I'm a golfer, I can picture the whole thing! Even I would have laughed if they ran across our fairway!

What great fun! I would have love to seen a video of your escapade. It reminds me of the golf story from Pebble Beach, CA when a seagull flew away with a Baggie that held a golfer's Rolex! Retrieving a golf ball from the hole.....Priceless. I wonder how they scored that hole.
