We vowed we would not get another dog for at least a year after the distress of losing Rusty in January 2010. We stayed in touch with our dog friends and when we were with them one afternoon one handed the local paper to my DH, he read it and said to me have a look at this. I looked where he was pointing and it was an add for a reluctant sale of a nearly 8 month old Cavoodle. He couldn't help himself he had to ring and get the details. A young lady had bought a Cavoodle from a breeder in Queensland the state north of us but she had developed serious Heart problems including the need for a Pacemaker and defibulator, Her younger brother also had the same thing and their mum being a single mother who worked long hours could not look after them and the pup so it was he was sold that weekend or he went to the pound. We could not see that happen so we went to see him and fell in love. My DH said can we think about it til the morning but we knew he wasn't going anywhere else. We have photoes and papers of his parents and have been in touch with breeder. He is twenty months old now and a joy to be with even if every step you take has a tennis ball there waiting to be thrown.   Val and Jasper and in memory of Rusty RIP

What a nice post! I am so glad fate brought you together. I said too, no more dogs, when our old Lab had to be put to sleep, and now I have two dogs :) Jasper is a cutie!!
