Congratulations! What a beautiful dog she is!
p.s. Kona is incredibly beautiful! Just looking at her and those eyes would make someone feel good!
Yayyyy Kona! This is something to be very proud of!
Way to go, Kona! Smart, obedient and beautiful! You and your mom rock!
Thank YOU Kathy, for taking the time to evaluate and teach us how to safely enjoy our visits. Yes, I agree, your heart does swell when you see the joy and hapiness in the faces, and especially the eyes of those you are visiting. We are thrilled to be a Therapy family :)
WAY TO GO! Fantastic! Congratulations to both of you! Having two therapy dogs will be fun! I am a tester/observer for Therapy Dogs, Inc. I want to congratulate you for taking the time to train your dogs and going the extra mile to get them registered to be therapy dogs. You are making such a difference to so many people:0) The interactions with others also enriches our lives. I always leave a visit with a "happy" heart!!!
So wonderful! Congratulations to both of you!
Kona and I thank you all for the wonderful congratulations messages :)
Joanne, Kona would love to give you some snuggle therapy anytime!
Sandy, if you can pass the Canine Good Citizen, you can pass the first part of the Therapy testing. The second part of the testing are the supervised visits. Get Hattie used to wheel chairs, walkers and crutches. When we would shop in any of the Petsmart's etc. I would take a cart and make the dogs walk next to me along side the cart. It get's them used to the moving wheels etc. We also would always offer others in wheelchairs and smaller children the chance to pet our dogs. This got the dogs used to getting up close to wheelchairs and sitting politely to get petted.
It took Buddy and I two years together and Kona 4 years of training and socializing to be ready to pass the test. If any of you really feel your dood would enjoy meeting and cheering up people and/or kids work on it, but don't rush. It just hit me this year that I thought she would be ready now, and I am glad I waited until she was ready instead of trying too early.
Congratulations Kona!! Way to go. You and your Mom should be very proud of yourselves.
