Do you ever wonder what goes on in a dogs head? I have on many occasions.

Sometimes it seems as if they want to tell me stuff, but because “speech” communication hasn’t quite evolved between us, other means will just have to do.

Not too long ago, Leo taught us the word “stop.” Today he’s decided to share his teaching technique with all of you…

But before he does, pawlease – allow me to do the intro!

My family was in dire need of “updating” family photos. I wanted to hang portraits in our family room, and I wanted them taken by a professional. I called on photographer extraordinaire Mareta Creations

Close to 300 shots later, along with an afternoon of belly cramping laughter, I was elated with what she captured…

It was somewhere in the middle of all of this cavorting and family fun that Leo expressed himself. Just not with his mouth.

LEO, THE COMPUTERS ALL YOURS…

We agreed to this whole picture taking thing, because it makes Doodle Mom so “doodly-oodly” happy. Harley and I stood, sat, and laid down on command every time…

But don’t get it twisted. We don’t do it because we like to, we do it for the treats!

When the lil lady with the “flash thing” stopped to play with her lightbulbs and lenses, Harley went to get a drink of water – and I sat down to rest my hips for a while.

I never called DS (Doodle Sister) over. I didn’t even look in her direction soliciting her attention. But she came over anyway. I have no doodle idea what possessed her to sit down and blow in my face. I wasn’t hot.

I tried everything I could to get her to leave me alone. She either “purposely” ignored the signs, or didn’t understand “the look”…

This defiance left me no other recourse. While she was in mid exhale, I taught her the doodle definition of “stop”…

Tiffany-2

OH YEAH BABY! She understood me then. She tried to lift my paw off the side of her face. Not easily done. I’m 94 pounds of pure fur and muscle…

Tiffany-3

Once I had her undivided attention, I gave her “the look” – AGAIN – so she’d remember without me having to get physical next time…

Tiffany-4

She’s a human, so I had to keep “the look” for a few minutes. Hey, just keeping it real…

Tiffany-5

To make sure she knew I meant no real harm, I had to give her a quick lick on the nose to remind her that I ruved her…

Tiffany-6

She’s now proficient in “doodle” language. At least with the word “stop”…

Thanks fur reading, I pawmise to limit his writing…
