Libby Lu is turning two! March 31, 2013
On March 31st two years ago,
A Labradoodle was born and little did we know
That in three short months from Washington state,
She would fly to us, we can’t be late!
It was off to the airport on June thirteen
We waited and waited for hours it seemed.
Until at last, she got off the plane,
We then knew in our hearts we would not be the same.
One look in her eyes, it was love at first sight,
She was here in Fresno for the rest of her life!
A new puppy for us, now what do we do?
We loved her, of course!! Our new “Libby Lu!”
At this moment now, we must take a time out,
And say two empty nesters were about to find out
That a dog in retirement was a whole new deal,
Puppyhood, Chew toys, potty training, is this for real?
We had raised five kids, we did good, no sweat!
But a puppy? Now? What the heck?
Were we crazy? Had we made a mistake?
No! No! Stop! Put those thoughts on break!
We loved our Libby, she captured our hearts,
We could honestly say that right from the start!
We loved her when she chewed up the couch,
And scratched granddaughters toes with her puppy kisses, ouch!
Her zoomies, her snuggles, her coy little looks,
Have earned her pages in our family scrapbooks!
She owns this house, Shh! She sleeps in our bed,
“That will never happen!” we have once said!
Libby, today is the day we celebrate you,
Today is the day that you turn two!
We love you Libby, yes we do!
Happy Birthday to you, Libby Lu!
You are the one for us Yellow Girl:)
We finally meet our Libby!
This Fresno weather is a lot different then Washington! She played in the water a lot:)
Libby's 1st trip to the ER! Harder on us then her:(
Learning her way around her home!
Our Birthday girl! You have our hearts!
