So.. Luna's coloring makes her look a bit like a lion and one day one of my students saw a picture of her and thought her paws looked like lion paws.
Luna paws:
Lion paws: (I think I see the resemblance but Luna's are of the dainty princess size)
Luna may look a bit like a lion but her tastes in yummy foods are not very lionish. Don't get me wrong - she LOVES meat. Fish is her favorite.... she looks something like this whenever I open a can of tuna:
Despite her strong carnivore instincts she has a special place in her heart for fruits and veggies. If I'm chopping fruits or vegetables in the kitchen Luna is ALWAYS there as soon as I start. She just stands around hoping she might get something. The strangest thing is she KNOWS when it's fruits or vegetables. If I'm chopping raw meat, bread... anything else... she's nowhere to be seen.
I call her hanging around during chopping time"almost-begging" because she just sort of mills around in the kitchen - no whining, no sitting by me. If I stop chopping though, she comes over and stands near me, hoping I might toss a piece of cucumber or melon over my shoulder. Those pieces never hit the floor :) She looks something like this if she's waiting for veggies... how could I say no!?
She doesn't really discriminate with fruits and veggies and has refused very few plant-based products. She got some kelp-based cookies as a xmas gift and gobbles them up like they are the tastiest thing ever created. The only refusals so far have been lettuce, green beans (fresh, cooked or canned.. she won't touch them) and lemons (she did lick one, but decided it was too tart!)
Here are some of the things Luna absolutely LOVES that do not quite fit into the "carnivore" category:
Cantaloupe
Bell pepper
... and discovered only yesterday.... raw baby spinach. (Luna are you sure you're not part cow/goat/rabbit?) When my brother heard about this one he dubbed her a "lion-goat".
Of all the things Luna could be obsessed with veggies and fruits are not so bad! I think I'll continue to indulge her rabbit habit - it's nice to have a chef's assistant when I'm making dinner!

Wow Luna you do have a well balanced diet. Good girl. Quincy is very much a carnivore although he does like sweet potatos, green beans and blueberries.
Good for you Luna ! That is why you have such silky fur. Finnley loves fruit, but hates any kind of noodles. Her first love ♥ will always be paper products though ! :)
What an educated palate Luna has. No wonder she looks so well and has such a beautiful coat
