Lyric is in heat--here we go again!
So, just like clockwork, on her third birthday, at exactly nine months from her last heat (which is what Lyric always does) Lyric started her heat and will be bred next week. That would put her litter due date at the end of September--which is after all my trips (I have two planned in August and early Sept.) so I am happy about that. We will have a different dad this time if all goes as planned. Bossa nova is a wavy haired apricot beauty and they could have chocolate pups in addition to apricot, since they both have chocolate in their backgrounds. We shall see!

This is THE weekend! I have Remi (Lyric's first mate) here with me since he lives with the breeder and would be VERY interested in Lyric right now--and Lyric has gone to the breeder's house. The new mate, Bossa Nova (a.k.a. Leo) arrives at the breeder's house this weekend. So, this is it! Hopefully all will go well and Lyric will come home early next week with a new litter on the way.
That would mean that she would be due at the end of September and the pups would go home right after Thanksgiving--perfect timing for me since I will have to "deck the halls" right after that!

Little pumpkins!!! How much you wanna bet someone names their new pup "Pumpkin"! Should we start a contest or pool? ha ha

Lyric's progesterone level is only .2 today, so she is not even close to the 5 level that you need for breeding--looks like it will be this weekend or even next Monday. That puts her at late September or early October for puppies.
