UPDATE:SEE MY LATEST COMMENT FOR TODAY'S CLOSE-UPS!
Wow--what a long two days--Lyric's labor started at around 12 am on Wednesday Feb 6th--she kept me up all night (didn't want to leave her alone just in case) and then I stayed with her all thru the day on Wednesday--it continued into the wee hours of Thursday morning--and she paced and panted but no progress....finally at 2 am, I said"OK Lyric, let's get in the whelping box and get this started". I went in and sat with her in the box and within 10 minutes her water broke--it is as if she was waiting for me to tell her what to do!
The first pup was born by 2:15 am--a lovely apricot female and then 5 more followed until 6:30 AM--3 boys, 3 girls--2 champagne colored, all others shades of apricot--so.... where is #7? We could clearly see 7 on the Xray--we waited and waited--Lyric rested comfortably while the pups ate and we saw a minor push now and then, but no pup--we were starting to get a bit concerned about this last pup--actually a LOT concerned and finally gave Lyric some oxytocin to increase the strength of her contractions at noon--10 hours after this all started. !5 minutes later, a beautiful healthy male pup came into view--PHEW!!!!!!! Lucky #7!! The breeder and I both cried --we were so happy to see that all was well...and everyone is doing well!
Here are some early pics!

Joanne--that was the second one born and he is an active little fellow--going to call him Nemo for now in honor of this storm!
I'm in love with that first pup. If it is boy, I'm on my way to get him. Congratulations Ginny. You are, what good breeders are all about
Oh yes, co-ownership! Ha, 3 doodles is a lot, but if I were at home without any kids I'd probably want 4 or 5.
I hope to be co-owner of a female--but she will go to a guardian home as someone's pet when not having pups--my hubby says three is really enough--or too many, depending on his mood. He knows I won't be able to control my need for more doodles if he doesn't make me stop! ;)
If i am a co-owner, then I am officially in the breeding business--yeah!
Aw...precious! Lyric looks so happy and content and the pups are beautiful. Thank you for sharing! And are you going to end up with one of these - I think you mentioned you might?
Congratulations! Lyric looks very happy.
It is fun to see the different fur Textures & colors already.
So incredibly cute!!! Lyric is clearly a proud mama!! And hooray for #7. He sure knows how to make the grand entrance!! He's destined to be one special dog!
Congratulations, Ginny, I'm glad all is well with Lyric and the puppies!
