So Marabelle is 4 months old now, and I think its time she starts letting me know when she needs to go out for a pee, instead of me guessing all the time lol.

Now I have noticed all the posts on DK about the pooch bells for the door. Now I know my Marabelle is smart enough to figure these out, and I started thinking, its Christmas there will be Christmas bells and ribbon everywhere.  So I went down to the dollar store, and purchased ribbin and bells lol, I was so excited, I was going to  make pooch bells for like $3.00 and they are festive. ( I am creative and smart ).

I was right they look great, they work perfectly, they have a Christmas look to them, with one small problem.

Marabelle is scared of them lol, a big old scaredy doodle, I have not given up however. I now have to give her a treat to come to the doo,r and touch the bells, then I have to treat her when she does 1 or 2.  I have had the thought, is she that smart, pretending to be scared to get an extra treat, hahaha I'm kidding of course. I hope when her big brother comes on Sunday he can show her there is nothing to be scared of.

Forgot to say... turn up the volume on the video!   Marabelle is cute... love how they work through curiousity and fear.... I'm sure she'll get it before long.   I ended up getting a stuffed animal door hanger that had bells on the end... then she viewed it as a toy!   She picked it up quick.  I just rang the bells everytime we went out the door ...  jingle jingle "Shelby Out!" and out we went!

Check out the video on my page.... called Shelby and the Bell.  I did a similar thing when I brought her home about 2 years ago... this is her first "visit" with the jumbo bell.   *Caution* - Super cute!

awe. that's sweet. I tried to make my own potty bell but Sophie just thought it was a toy. She was obssessed with getting it off the door. So we never did get used to the potty bell thing. I rely on routine, and the occassional whining by the front door.

You know those bells can be a blessing and a curse! Once they find out the door opens when they ring them... well you get the idea.. you become the doorman!  Or woman in this case! :)

Try putting a dab of peanut butter or cheese on the bottom one and she'll get used to them!
