Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
(A message from Penny the WonderDog, as dictated to her Doodle Mom)
I have been shainghai’d.
Day before yesterday, my doodle mom and dad called me into the garage. I was all excited ‘cuz I figured it meant we were going for a W-A-L-K, but instead, there was this tiny red fuzzball trotting around my feet! I froze, thinking, “Whoa… pull up on the reins there, cowboys. What in heck is THIS? And when is she LEAVING?”
I was informed that, much to my early chagrin, I have a new baby sister. She is a 13-week old Labradoodle and her name is Gabby, short for “Gabriella” (well, lah-dee-DAH!). I look at my parents and think, “This is a DOG? I have POOPS bigger than her!”
My doodle mom thinks Gabby is pretty amazing, ‘cuz she’s so pretty (and has the bladder of a camel – boy, can that half-pint hold her pee!). I have spent the last two days working through the “Seven Stages of Grief,” and have made it through the “shock & denial” and the “bargaining” phases. Today, I kinda figured that since she’s here to stay, I’ll try to play with her a little. I did the play bow and woofed at her a couple of times, and I think I saw her smile as she ran away from me. And since mommy and daddy have been giving me lots of love, too, so that I don’t feel left out, I figure if the “kid” is gonna stay,it’s probably better to live and let live.
Maybe it won’t be so bad having a mate around. Now, if I can just get her to stop stealing my chicken jerky…

Penny my dear, I know just how you feel! When Mom brought the little brown chunk home that they called Kona, I went through those same stages of grief...... It will get better, eventually ;) I do look forward to our wrestling matches each night, and sooooo look forward to rolling her at the dog park, hee hee Good luck and I look forward to your thoughts as she grows.
Yours, Buddy
Dear Penny,
You are very lucky that your baby sister is so little! When Mom and Dad brought ME home a baby sister she was no baby! Rose was only 3 months younger than me and boy did she have a mind of her own! But the good thing is Penny that no matter what, a sister is a sister and I've come to find out their pretty cool to have around! As a matter of fact I don't know what I would do without mine now!
Have fun with Gabby....she sure is a cutie pie! My Mom can't stop smiling looking at her picture so you know she's a keeper!
Love,
Gaston-Cramer
