Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
These are the sort of weeks I like, when they start out with Mellow Mondays!
In addition to being a FT Doodle Mom, my weekends can get rather hectic. I am active with the Senior Ministry in our church, and DH sometimes can be stretched pretty thin with his many social and civic commitments. This past weekend all our projects and activities seemed to collide, having us pulled in different directions for extended periods of time.
Rarely is everyone in “Doodleville” (surrogate family included) over extended with prior engagements. Usually I have someone on “reserve status” to jump in and assist with bathroom breaks if I know I can’t make it back to relieve these two…
This weekend was so “overbooked” our daughter had to pitch hit for me at a formal banquet withDH, because I was neck deep in a major event at our church. When these rare occasions occur, The Boys get to spend 24 hours in the lap of luxury pawcationing at “Hotel” Olde Towne Pet Resort…
Not quite sure what all they do while they’re there, but once I pick them up, Sunday evening and Monday morning are pretty much spent like this…
The “good news” is that I get a chance to catch up on some much needed rest and reading (yup, still reading the book CHASER and yes it’s good!). The “better news” is that neither Leo nor Harley seem to care!
So as the moon moved into its position Sunday – Harley snuggled up under an unoccupied blanket, and I thought: “Hot dig-gity doodle” I’m going to have an uninterrupted evening!
I’ll need it though, because Tuesday they’ll be pinging off the walls, but that’s a totally different blog post.
Playing “catch-up” in my in-box, I did find a pretty nifty project that I thought I’d like to try, (thanks to “Scout” and our furrends at BarkBox)- so of course I felt the need to share.
This would actually be pawsome to use when I’ve got The Boys with me, you know – snacks, water, poop bags, wet ones, need I go on? Plus, it’s sure to be a great conversation piece…
It caught my attention because The Boys eat ACANA dog food. I’m sure you could use any dog food bag you wanted.

Hi Shelia - How have you been? I'm with you, I'd love to check in and stay overnight. Harley and Leo aren't necessarily favorites, but they do have some of the night staff conned I'm sure. I don't bring Wilson along when I board them, Leo doesn't seem to mind.
My mom is great (thanks so much for asking) saw her today! Will take the Boys over there later this week. I'm in the middle of the book, (can't find a lot of time to read lately) and I am enjoying it. Getting quite a few hints on different approaches to use with Harley & Leo, can't wait to finish. Take care and hugs to Finnley.
Cathy, I have seen enough pictures of that Pet Resort from your blogs, to know that I'D BE HAPPY staying there !! They have everything, and I would imagine by this time Leo and Harley are favorite guests there. Really, who wouldn't like to see those two coming through the door ? Does Wilson get to go too ?
How is your mom doing ? As usual, loved the blog, and I might just have to check out the book you mentioned.
Hi Ms. Ellie - Today (Monday) was super mellow….
I spent some time with my mom and the boys relaxed at home with DH.
Take care!!
Love your blog as usual Cathy...and love the idea of the Acana dog tote bag...enjoy your Monday...sounds like you need a mellow day after your crazy weekend!
