She left me with my buddy Grendel, a pit bull/mastiff kind of guy, and his humans. I missed her a lot for a while after she left, but hey--I'm a year old now and Gren would think I was a wimp if I just kept whining and moping, even though I'd never been away from her overnight since I chose her to be my human when I was eight weeks old. Anyhow, Mom called Gren's humans every day to see how I was doing, and sounded a little surprised when she heard I was just fine. Sheesh! I think SHE was one suffering from separation anxiety! When she finally came to pick me up, I was really excited, and got away with jumping up on practically everybody, even Gren's people. Humans are such a hoot! So, we're back to the same 'ole, same 'ole now. Maybe Gren can come to stay with me for a few days.

Your pal,

Traveler

Hi, Harlow & Harlow fans! Yeah, a sleep over! The most fun part was having a dog to play with all the time. How cool is that!? It's just me and Mom at home, and she can be pretty boring at times. When she's at the computer, I bring all kinds of toys over and drop them by chair and she still won't play with me! Oh, well.

Wow Traveler, sounds like you had what my 2 footer sis calls a 'sleep over'. I never get to do a sleep over. When the 2 footers leave for a few days we have a house sitter come stay with us. Its OK because we can usually fool the sitter into giving us more treats and convince them to let all of us sleep in the big bed. The way sis talks about how much fun sleep overs are I think I would like to give it a try. Your friend, Harlow

Dear Ned and Clancy:
I feel for you. The humans I stayed with told Mom that I was whiny and moped for a while on the first day, but I got over it and didn't do that again. Remember, you have to give your humans some freedom once in a while--it's part of the socialization process for them. I didn't even get to stay in my own house, so maybe its easier if you get to stay home and just have your buddies come to stay with you. You'll probably get away with stuff you wouldn't get away with if your mom and dad were there....
hoping it all turns out happily for you,
your pal,
Traveler

Traveler, Was it really ok without your mom? Our mom and dad are going away soon for 5 days and our sister is coming with our cousin to stay. We are not sure this will be alright. We like our sister and our cousin but we haven't ever been away from them at night. Our brother, Gordie has - he gets to go with our brother to college sometimes. One of us might get to go with Mom and Dad but we aren't sure yet. Should we all stay together? Ned and Clancy
