These dogs are going to put my vet in a porsche pretty soon.

Today after our walk, I noticed blood on the floor. Off to examine both dogs and found Yankee had a bloody foot. His pad was cut as well as the skin beside it. Not sure how he did it and he wasn't limping. So off to the vet where they glued his pad and bandaged his foot. They wanted him to wear a cone and I said NO WAY. He was miserable the last and only time he wore one. They were concerned about him chewing at it but I said I was only concerned about Finn chewing on it. They sprayed the bandage with some yucky stuff with the hopes that Finn would leave it alone.

It's been 10 hrs and so far so good. Neither dog has touched the bandage and they were alone at times. Let's hope we get through the night without and chewing.

His bandage is still intact. We see the vet again tomorrow to remove bandage and check it out. Finn is missing all the wrestling.

Poor Yankee, I hope he made it through the night without chewing. Feel better soon, Yankee Doodle!

Oh, poor Yankee. I hope it heals quickly for him, and I hope Finn understands why Yankee has to take it easy for awhile.

What is the yukky stuff the vet put on the bandage? I need to know, Penny's going in to be spayed in 2 weeks, and if we can get away without her wearing a lamp shade, that would be awesome! Maybe the vet should consult you about color choice when he picks out his Porsche, you do have a vested interest!

Poor Yankee! We are thinking of him. And you and your vet bills...

Hope Yankee's foot heals quickly, don't think any dog is fond of that ( cone, satellite dish, or daisy popper upper) they make the poor dogs wear. You would think they could come up with better ways to keep them from chewing on stitches, or dressings. and make the dogs pain a little less stressful than it already is. Best of luck with both Yankee and Finn

Our springer just had leg surgery and we had to buy a cone = didn't use it and he didn't chew. Once in a while he tried to lick but we just said no and he stopped. Wish you the same luck.

That happend to my Cousins Lab, He did not leave the bandage alone. I hope for a speedy recovery. On a side note. My orthodontist lived across the street from us. He came home with a Porsche,my Mom went over asked for the keys.It was very funny. :)
