Thanks Ginny-that's some good advice, I appreciate it especially about her neck!
Lisa-She wouldn't even stand for a picture! She wanted to hide! I suppose besides the back of the head, it's proportioned. She rubbed her head around the bed and a bow came out! Then we took the other out and she did it again so then she was a messy head again, the way I like. It'll be awhile before I can look at her the same way.
Thanks for not laughing Phobe and mom! Her hair grows pretty fast though.
Suzann & Dori thanks for the polite comments and not laughing (our neoghbors did) she loves getting her belly scratched now-I wonder if it itches them??
Thanks Nancy-I don't know if there will be a next time anytime soon-I'm going try to handle it myself! LOL!
Joe-these pics are right away after we got home, she's messing it up pretty good on her own (what's left to mess)
Jennifer-I just miss her puppy hair SO much-soft/thin/darker Thanks for saying she's cute-she had too much hair before and not enough now.
Finally, Jane I've heard the scrunch method before and have used before on her. Thanks!!
She does have a really nice cut, but i know what you mean about the poodle thing--I had such a hard time with it with my groomer that I bought the equipment and went into the grooming business! (I just do my guys and a few others) Anyway, I would take a picture of her standing up from the side and a few angles. Print it out, then take a pen and draw in the places where the profile is incorrect. Then you can bring it with you next time and they will know what you are talking about.
They need to blend the longer hairs of the head with the neck so that the hair gradually gets shorter--instead, they make the neck the same length as the body--that gives the dog the poodle look--it WILL grow back and maybe this won't happen again.
I will say that clippers will not go through a coat if there is matting AT THE SKIN--and a thick coat makes it very hard to get through. The Les Pooches brush is great, but if you can't get a metal comb through the coat after you have brushed it, the clippers won't go through either. You need to brush a section, then comb it to see if the mats are out at the skin level.
Jennifer, yes she looks like a poodle (giggles no laughs) but very very CUTE poodle indeed.
It's tough to judge laying down but is her head proportioned?
Did you take these pictures right after she was done? If so Jane's right. After a couple days it'll settle down. Gus has the same problem after he's groomed.
No laughing here either, Is she an english Goldendoodle, I am only asking because we are getting an english and I am not familiar with the coat or the texture. She does look like a poodle, but it has happen to the best of us.
It will grow out, she is still stinking cute.... don't shoot me but I sort of like it better the way it is now then in the first picture.... She is cute, no doubt
