My First Mother's Day!
What a wonderful Mother's Day weekend we had...
We decided to head to Columbus, Ohio for the weekend with Remington to visit Dan's Mom and Dad at their lake house on Buckeye Lake. I have to admit I was a little bit nervous because Dan has a very young niece (Mallory) and nephew (Elliott) and I wasn't sure how Remington Bear would act around them since he isn't around children too often. Also, Dan's brother has an 8 year old black lab and Remington seems to be terrified around other dogs for some reason... so we didn't know how he would react to that either... but knew it would be good for him to be exposed to that stuff. Anyways, we got there and Buster and Remington hit it off. Buster seemed to be a little annoyed with Remington but they got along great and walked together each day. I think they left the greatest of friends. Remington was also such a gentlemen with Elliott. He did not jump up on him, but instead sat and let Elliot pet him and feed him. I was so impressed!
I was also a little worried about Remington being outside most of the time since he is inside with us 24/7... but we hooked him up to the porch and he was in heaven! Him and Buster lounged around in the sunshine and napped all day long. The second night we were there we even let him sleep in our room without him in his crate for the night and he did great. He slept on the floor beside Dan and I all night and only got up once to get a quick drink of water.
I feel like this was a great learning weekend for Remington. He came home a much more worldly dog. I was so incredibly proud of him. It was a wonderful first Mother's Day for me!

Actually Buckeye Lake is East of us... you will have to excuse me, I am very much directionally challenged..

Sounds like a very good time!!! You were in my neighborhood, we live in Pickerington about 20 miles west of Buckeye Lake. It was a beautiful weekend in Central Ohio, at least it wasn't raining for once...
