My Murphy is 2 today!!!!!

So hard to believe he is 2 already. He is such a joy. He's had a day filled with hugs and belly rubs and bully sticks and a HUGE bone. He spent hours chewing away. Dad found a really cool gift at the sporting good store. It's a bird used to train hunting dogs.  He loves it!!!  Just wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my #1 doodle.   (oops, sideways :)  )

Murphy has had a great day. We ended it with some left over steak from our restaurant doggie bag. Tonight we put our training to the test, as my daughter and I have been baking all day and had to leave several dozen different cookies on the counter to let the icing dry. We left it all there and went to dinner and a movie, leaving Murphy home alone and Bella in her X-pen.  Quite a leap of faith, but I was pretty sure he wouldn't touch the cookies.

Well, 5 hours later and the cookies are right where we left them!!!! We are so proud of our big boy!!!

This bird is made of a pretty durable plastic. It's pretty tuff. Murphy and Bella played tug with it this morning and there's not even a scratch on it. It's soft enough to compress some when he puts it in his mouth and then it makes a soft squeek sound like a little bird.The rope with the black ball on the end is so the trainer can throw it up in the air and then teach the dog to retrieve it.   Really cool. DH said it was at Outdoor World, around $20.00

More than we usually spend on a toy, so I'll be watching how long it lasts.
