You have had dogs as part of your family for a while. They certainly do enrich our lives.
Oh, yes, those doodles sure do grow on you. It seems that one is just not enough and they are all so different.
I can't imagine my life without my dogs, although I haven't had quite as many as you have!
Barney died in 1989 and we were without a dog for about six months, but we were also moving from one house to another and living in a condo while waiting. It was not the best time for a dog. We had promised Kristoff a new dog and as soon as we got settled in, he wanted his puppy.
I cannot remember a time when our family did not have dogs & cats. My mom raised Siamese cats and we also had a family dog. The only time I have not had a dog was right after I went through a divorce. Our dog had passed, my children were both grown, and I moved from Montana to Seattle. For the next 12 years I worked long hours and did not have the time I felt necessary to have a dog. As soon as my life settled down and I met my life partner and bought a new home, did I think the time was right. I cut back in working hours, partner worked out of our home, and we decided to get a dog - Wilbur was a standard poodle. Life was so good until he passed and then we happened upon ALDs and the rest is history - we now have two!
Lynda - I am looking forward to seeing that cute little sheepadoodle when it arrives!
Wow - 40 something years.
I never had dogs until Boomer 10 years ago - then all of a sudden it became 3 doodles. Didn't know what we were missing!!!
