Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
My puppy's litter was born on Thursday. They are Australian Labradoodles and are 2 boys and 4 girls.
I am the third in line to pick and had kind of been freaking out because I've always been dead set on getting a boy, not for any real reason- just what I've always had. After allowing myself to settle down, I realized that I'd be totally happy with a girl and have gotten myself settled and excited about the opportunity to have a puppy of either gender.
So, if I bring home a boy, his name will be Ludo. The name means "I play" in Latin and is very loosely tied to a Harry Potter character, Ludo Bagman. He is described this way and it just felt really perfect for a dog:
"He was walking as though he had springs attached to the balls of his feet and was plainly in a state of wild excitement"
And if it is a girl, I'll name her Millie. It was on a short list of girl names based on my favorite musical Thoroughly Modern Millie and I have visions of getting to singing "beat the drums, 'cause here comes thoroughly modern Millie now" every time she runs over to me. haha.
My breeder sent me a photo tonight and they're all such great colors. I'm excited to watch them grow and bring one home in nine weeks.

So cute! You will head over heels in love with whichever puppy you bring home!
Glad you came to terms with boy or girl. Both can be great. I always had female dogs as a kid. So I was thinking girl and then our puppy's mom had 4 boys and 1 girl. We had first choice but wanted to pick more on the personality assessments they did. Glad we did as Whiskey has been a good fit for us. Now I think I realize boy or girl they can be great! Happy puppy dreams until your puppy's arrival.
Thanks, Jenn :) and hi, Linda! Thanks for the welcome :) The pups will be between 40-60 pounds, which is considered standard, I think!
Hi Kaitlin ~ oh what cute puppies! What size is this litter? Congratulations - he or she will be home with you before you know. Keep sharing photos. Welcome to Doodle Kisses!
