Well we are at the conclusion of day two. Things have gone much better than I had anticipated. A few things have cropped up that were interesting.
The Walk – walk one started out a bit rough. Mylie is a puller! I needed to keep her on the gentle leader halter to handle her. I tried both on the same side, but that did not work. After a half a mile or so Gavin hit his stride and Mylie followed along. DH did the second walk and it went pretty well.
The Bark – Mylie is much more vocal than Gavin and lives in a rural area, so every door slam or car rev in the neighbourhood caused her to bark. Gavin (the follower) would then begin to bark too. Monkey see, monkey do.
The Outing – DH and I were going out for dinner. We separated the doods on different floors with baby gates but Mylie whined a lot, so we took our chances, left them together with the lights off and filled bones to keep them busy. Everything was intact when we got home.
The Visit – three couples came home with us after dinner for cocktails. Mylie and Gavin were super excited for the first minute, then just appropriately social. Everyone loved them. After a bit they lay side-by-side on the floor at our feet. My friend commented that they looked bonded and that Gavin will likely be down at the end of the week after Mylie leaves.
