Gavin and Mylie: Day One!

We are doodle-sitting this week. Mylie arrived about three hours ago. So far, so good. DH took Gavin to see Mylie on Wednesday just to re-aquaint them and get rid of some of the craziness. It worked really well. They got along famously. So good that when DH went to leave he was side tracked talking to my friend’s son and when he got back in the car, he found that Mylie had gone through the driver’s door and was sitting in the back seat next to Gavin. Today they played, ate each other’s food, took each other’s toys and used each other’s beds. I put them both outside to do their duty, but they just played so I let them out separately and they got right down to business. Here are a couple of pictures of the handsome couple. You may notice that Gavin is just a tad bit larger than Mylie. Funny, I remember thinking how big she was before we got our boy!

Wow, that is awesome Linda. They are so cute. I love hearing about a good doodle romp. How long is Mylie staying for? Gavin looks great. Charlie misses him and would like to plan another play date sometime. Take care! Talk soon.

PS. I found out our lost doodle's name is Penny. She is still a pup. After she left Josh asked me if we could get another doodle. haha I think one doodle is enough for now. It think Charlie would be too jealous.

PS - it's not just a weekend that I have Mylie, it's a week (I am a good friend)

Well it\s the morning of day two. They settled pretty well last night. Both slept on the floor at the end of our bed. Mylie taught Gavin how to jump up on our bed (NOT allowed). Mylie got up about 4 times and the last time Gavin joined her and they both settled right in. Uh...no! They were so cute, that I almost relented though. Gavin is a bit jealous. Anytime I pet Mylie, he cuts in and lays down beside me. Trying to feed them has been a bit of an issue because they each are only interested in the other's food. Neither will eat their own. We have a skiff of snow on the ground this morning which is always fun. I will "saddle them up" shortly for a walk. Mylie uses a gentle leader. I think I will put it on her, but attach the leash to her regular collar to begin with and see how that goes.

Just an early morning "buddy check"...
I'm up early...DH has a business trip to British Columbia...it's so beautiful there...

Those are two very cute Doods. What a couple they make. Sounds like you are going to have lots of fun and laughs this weekend. We expect a good story to follow!!
