Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I have been working with The DRC since we fostered Mickey this past July. The work that they do saving Doodles from a life of hell is just incredible. There are many DK members that have found their Doodle with the help of The DRC.

The DRC is an all volunteer group that spends countless hours pulling Doodles from shelters, puppy mills (Mickey is just one of them), checking CraigsList, Pet Finders and other sites to cross post those Doodles to The DRC site to help families that are looking for a Doodle find one easier. Doodles are not a 'breed' that PetFinders utilizes so we have to look under Wheatons, Labs, Goldens, Schnauzers, Wirehaired Terriers, Newfies and so many others. I wish I had a dollar for every hour I alone have spent browsing PF!

If they didn't cross post Doodles, I never would have found Charli on PetFinders and she would not be part of our family!! I would have never known to search under any other 'breed'. I owe them so much!!

The DRC pays to have every Doodle they foster vetted. Most Doodles don't come with medical records so each Doodle is basically starting from scratch. Most of the Doodles they save have mange, worms, kennel cough, eye infections, ear infections - that is just a start! You all have been there and know how much 1 Doodle costs - just think of what The DRC pays in a year! The DRC reimburses fosters for crates, collars, leashes and so many other things.

Now, The DRc needs our help! Without money, they will not be able to save another Doodle from a Kill Shelter, Puppy Mill or someother horrendous life!!

PLEASE - I am begging you to please donate money to help them save more Doodles.
Anything you can donate will be so appreciated!!

Just go to the Main Page of The DRC - on right side you will see DRC FUND

Thank You, Adrianne for helping us all that you have in the past month or so.

As many of you know, The Doodle Rescue Collective started right here on Doodle Kisses. We started listing doodles in need of homes on the original Rescued Doodles Group. That got so big, so we started a group of it's own, listing doodles in need and helping people find their forever doodle. That got too big, also, so we started The Doodle Rescue Collective. In just 9 months, on it's own, The DRC has grown to such proportions, that we now have Regional Reps in CT, FL, TX and AZ and the East Coast coverage by Jacquie and myself.

We have helped rescue Almost Heaven and other puppy mill dogs. We have saved doodles from imminent euthanization in shelters all over this continent. Doodle Kisses members have helped transport, donate for vetting and surgeries and pull dogs from shelters for us. We started taking our own doodles into our own rescue program and finding fosters and forever homes for about 30 doodles, as of now. We work WITH PSPCA, IDOG, HSUS, Lab, Golden and Poodle Rescues and basically, anyone who can help us save doodles.

In a way, we are an offshoot of Doodle Kisses. Many of our volunteers are DK members and we come here because this is our first home and where we all met and became friends. Sometimes we tell it like it is and cause some upheavals, but always with the safety, benefit and love of doodles in mind. We tell our new volunteers and members about this social site and hope they join here also because of the friendships that are fostered here.

We are in the process of doing a 501c3 and then we can apply for grants and the like but it really does not affect donations by others to help us continue to save doodles. For average citizens, making a donation to us or any other non-profit under $500, can still be claimed on your taxes. We do send Thank You notes and your Paypal receipt should be saved for your accountant.

As many of you have already donated in the past, all I can say here is THANK YOU because you have helped us to grow and become the success that we are becoming. It is all because of you and your support that we have been able to be the respected rescue that we are.

Hi Denise,
In answer to your question, any donation under $500 is a legal tax deduction. Your PayPal receipt is sufficient for the IRS and we always send a thank you to each person that donates - whether it is $1.00 or $100.00.
Sorry I had to answer you here - I tried to post on your page but was not allowed.
Thanks again for your interest and hope that you can help support The DRC!
We need every dollar donation - it is always ABOUT and FOR THE DOODLES!!

Are these donations tax deductable...how do you get a reciept for tax purposes? Have a friend who is looking to leave a large estate to a shelter...trying to persuade otherwise...I really don't want to see a kill shelter get her fortune.
