Not A Happy Camper

So last night our family decided to have a camp out in our backyard. We set out the tent and had a beautiful fire going in the fire pit. We sat around roasting marshmallows and lighting sparklers, as we watched the pre 4th of July fireworks. When it was time to get ready for bed we all went in the tent. Sonny joined us and wasn't quite sure what to make of the tent. Being almost 10:00 and past his bedtime,Sonny was tired. He tried various spots on the floor of the tent and he finally after 10 minutes decided to try one of the air mattresses. I had to run into the house to get something and Sonny got up and quickly followed me into the house. He walked himself right upstairs to "his spot" and went to bed. Around 12:00 my husband woke me to tell me the one of the air mattress had deflated and I should go inside and he would sleep with our kids. Well I went in and there was Sonny, still in his spot, sound asleep. I guess camping is just not Sonny's thing! lol

Ned and Clancy love, love, love camping. Well, their humans version of camping is in an RV. Ned and Clancy get to ride laying on a couch or chair, chew on antlers, get lots of walks, see strange birds and dogs. They get to sleep on a bed or a couch or even a cooler floor. They are pretty much with their humans 24-7. What a life!

We are going camping this weekend, and I'm wondering how Darwin will react. He may act like Sonny, it wouldn't really surprise me. We'll see! That sounds like a really fun weekend!

Haha - that is too funny. I had my first camping experience last summer and it really did not go much better except we were not at home! I did not sleep well the whole night. The air mattress... well, what can I say... its not a REAL mattress! Not to mention all the other sounds and smells - too distracting.

We are going in a few weeks to Northern Ontario and camping on a beach! But I am still hopefull there will be a hotel in the mix!

My Humans love to camp, but I am with Sonny - Camping is not for civilized dogs :p.

Awe... poor Sonny! Tori isn't comfortable when she's not in her crate at night either... we tried leaving her loose one night, but she just roamed around and was veyyyyy sleepy the next day - and so were we!
