Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

So now I'm thinking I have really finally crossed the line. I know I've been suffering with OCDD for a while, but it has reached a new level. Guinness is never really comfortable riding in the car. He used to drool and throw up even on really short trips. Lately he's "okay" under 20 - 30 minutes - no actual vomiting, but clearly nervous. So, we got him a prescription for the long trips...but what to do about making him more comfortable on the shorter rides. I saw an ad for a CD of dog "therapy music". Oh yes, I did buy it. It claimed to help them to calm down in any circumstance. So, I thought it would be the perfect solution in the car. I traded in my usual Springsteen tape today for this "sleepy dog music". I know, crazy right. It didn't seem to make any difference in Guinness's anxiety level, but I almost fell asleep at the wheel. I need a support group.

We are here for you!! LOL Honestly, I think we all have a case of OCD in us.... otherwise we wouldn't be so addicted to our dogs and this site!!! Don't worry - you're in the BEST company!!!!
P.S. Tori too is terrible in the car... but we've moved from vomiting to diarrhea - YUCK!!! (Now tell me where else can you freely talk about your dog's "diarrhea"???? LOL)

DK is a support group! It supports and even encourages your OCDD. LOL! Sure, that makes it different than other support groups, but it's fun to be different.

LOL- maybe try some of the tunes on your page! How could anyone be anxious while listening to "Into the Mystic"?

Hahahahahahaha, that is soooo funny. We will do anything for our doodles huh? I can sympathize though with the drooling. Lucy was the very same way. I would not even get out the driveway and there it would come. I would take a big sheet and cover everything with it b/c she would soak the seat with her drool. I started giving her dramamine, the generic form though, about 1/2 hr. before we would go anywhere and that really helped until she FINALLY grew out of it. Ginger is also good to give them , ginger snaps, hard candy etc. Good Luck OH, and you better not play that CD anymore, don't want to hear that you were in an accident b/c you fell asleep </:-)

Yeah, well count me in!! I got one too in case Little Princess gets left by herself for awhile. No Animal Planet station good enough for her. I think that since when we had our first child, we couldn't afford the neat new Pottery Barn stuff and had used things, AND I don't have a grandchild yet, I've gone batty. My dining room table looks worse than Christmas. But, hey, I've had motion sickness and have tried IT ALL. It really is miserable for Guinness, so if it soothes either of you, hey, go for it!!
