After three weeks of a poor appetite and the blahs, Lyric is gearing up for the whelping on October 1--she is ALWAYS hungry now and is feeling much better, although still sleeping a lot. She seems so big to me already that I did a few comparisons to her photos from Litter one. She is much bigger this time--but I don't know if that means she has more puppies (she had 6 last time) or is just "stretched out" from the first litter. Here are some comparisons:

So, the second photo is today and it was taken two weeks earlier in the pregnancy than the first--if she is anything like a human momma, she is just showing faster the second time around.

Considering the fact that she is just over halfway through her 63 days, she isn't that much smaller than the full term picture! My breeder already has deposits on at least 4 or 5 puppies from this litter and it looks like we will have plenty of pups to go around. 

 

I am going to Maine with DH, Mattie and Rio (my other two doodles) all of next week, and Lyric will relax at the breeder's house--by the time I see her again, she will look so different! And it will be time to set up the whelping room! Exciting!
