Our new addition
We just rescued a 9 month old golden doodle. Her name is Maggie and she is a love bug!
Not afraid and was very comfortable in our home from the minute she stepped in.
We are working on her to learn basic commands, and have already taught her how to walk on a leash without pulling.
She came to us house trained, and we have had no accidents!! We are going to need to work on her manners and she appears to bark (VERY LOUD) at me for attention which we need to break: FAST!!
We are loving her goofiness, and I am eager to learn from all of you on this site.
She has a mixture of a straight and wavy coat, and I am thinking this is still her puppy coat, but to be honest, I really don't know how to tell. I will be looking for some advice on grooming. I have been brushing her with a dog brush I had and will be looking into buying the right tools to make the job easier. I guess Les Pooch is the way to go?!?
Again, I am eager to learn from this site with obedience, grooming, etc!!

I know that you joined the DRC site and Karen suggested that you join DK and become part of this huge DK family. I am thrilled that you adopted Maggie and that you found her PetFinder link on the DRC site. I am not sure that everyone knows that a DRC volunteer spends many hours each week cross posting on the DRC site doodles that are in other shelters and rescues, not just the doodles in the DRC program. I am sure Michelle will be thrilled to know that one of members found a doodle because of one her posts.
We will all be excited to follow Maggie's progress.
Do you know where if she came from another home and why she was given up or was she found as a stray?

Congrats! Sounds like she's doing very well with the basics. I recently ordered the Les pooches brush for one of my 2 doodles. It helped a lot but her hair is still a lot of work very thick. Good luck!
