Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Dispite all the earlier mishaps, my family is proud to annouce that we have adopted a rehomed 3 year old Goldendoodle from Pensacola Florida called Murphy. The previous owners (Katie and Jeff) just had a baby and could no longer spend the necessary time taking care of him. We paid them a small fee and had Murphy flown up to us on Delta. The trip unfortunately was quite an ordeal.
Katie & Jeff bought a giant kennel to ship him in to provide him with as much space as possible since he is a big dog. But everyone time Delta went to put him on a plane they said the crate didn't fit and he was taken off the flight. After five hours, Katie was called to pick up Murphy from Pensacola airport and take him home. I suggested that Katie get a slightly smaller kennel (extra large instead of giant) and bring him back to the airport. She did and Murpy left on a 4pm flight. The next problem occurred in Atlanta GA. According to Delta's website, Murphy was bumped from his transfer flight leaving Atlanta at 7:30pm. After speaking to several people at Delta (again) I was finally told that Murphy was in fact on the flight and I should ignore their website. My wife, son and I got to the airport at 10pm and was told at first that Murphy was not listed on the flight manifest. After a lengthy discussion the Delta representative contacted Atlanta and found out that Murphy was mislabeled and was on the flight. The flight landed and we left the airport at 11pm.
Murphy was a little shocked but weathered the trip and he is doing fine and slowly getting adjusted to his new home. We are now in the process of trying to find a non-puppy companion for Murphy. Either a Labradoodle or Goldendoole. We are hoping that the next time things go a little smoother.

That is too bad that Murphy got bumped out of the previous owner's lives. It's a good thing Adina & Clark can handle two Doodles, and toddler and a newborn.
Glad Murphy has a new home now. He is beautiful.
