A rainy blustery day and my kitchen floor is nothing but muddy pawprints from my two doods. I wouldn't have it any other way. It's kind of like fingerprints and messes when your kids are little...once they are wiped clean they are gone forever (yes, I did wipe them clean haha...but sometimes wish I had "missed" a couple here and there). A friend of mine recently lost her beloved dog and for months couldn't bring herself to wipe off the nose prints off the sliding glass window where he would sit and look out. He got off his leash and got hit by a car so this was a sudden loss/shock. So as I look at my rust colored tile floor covered with the gray and brown prints from my doods' paws I am going to just be thankful that I have them both to enjoy, and that they are happy and healthy...doing their favorite things by running and digging in the mud and water. The mop can wait awhile.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friends dog....my dog was hit by a car when I was growing up and it's a awful thing to go through!!!!  .......as far as the paw prints on the floor  and nose smudges on the door......you made me look at them a lot different tonight.  :)  Thank you.  :)

So true. I love seeing paw prints around. House feels lived in and full of life.
