Hi,

Am so proud of Paz.  His amazing work as therapy dog assisting childen who have witnessed domestic violence is featured in a major nyc daily publication.  In the online version, his picture does not appear, however, in the actual publication there is a picture of him.

Hi Sandy, I was really nervous before taking the test too!  The evaluators are usually very supportive, and that really helped.  I feel that like anything else, Paz and I are always learning, and training  is an ongoing process.  Paz has been working for a year (he is now 2 1/2), and everyday is a learning experience.  He loves to work because I make it fun for him.  Working with traumatized kids can be very stressful for a dog, so I'm always giving him breaks, and our staff spend lots of time rubbing his belly, and making it a fun.  Good Luck to you and Hattie, and keep us posted.  Just a hint that might be helpful.  Prior to the actual test, I asked the testers if Paz and I could walk around the room prior to the test, not unlike letting a therapy dog familiarize him/herself with the environment in which he/she will be working.  The testers totally understood and it provided Paz with the opportunity to sniff the environment and settle down.  Just a thought!   Good luck.
