I don't know if Peri is picking up on my nesting habits, but for the first time EVER, I have found a toy that she has not destroyed.  EVER.  For about 10 days, she has had this squeaky chicken that I found at Target.  She carries it around and follows me throughout the house with it.  We have been doing a lot in the nursery lately, hanging curtains, art, etc...and she brings "baby chicken" (as we call it) in there and just lies down on the floor with it and licks it.  It is so odd.

What the dood?  She literally shreds or eats things within an hour. This is her little baby I guess.  How cute is this pic?  I love my Peri dood.

This is so cute...Picturing Peri walking around with her baby chicken and taking care of it!  She will be awesome to your baby!  I love it!  Bexter did have a soft rubbery duck/chicken toy and I will say it lasted him the longest of any of his toys!  He LOVED that thing.  It looked kind of like Peri's, but green.  Maybe I should try it again, but I'm too scared he'll rip it up and ingest some of it.  Peri looks adorable in that picture!

For her first two years, Sedona was a big time soft toy murderer.  We finally stopped buying anything soft.  Then along comes granddaughter, Kayla.  Sedona would steal Kayla's stuffed toys and carry them around, but not shred a thing.  Now, Sedona has her own collection of softies and so far hasn't murdered a thing.  Maturation or the influence of the baby???  Who knows!

Regarding babies and germs - Kayla has her own two dogs (who "help" her eat by licking her hands) and a mother (my daughter) who is not the best house-keeper in the world.  Kayla will live a good, long life!!!

Molly has a baby bunny...she carries it and places it in every room she goes in. She is more of a want nothing to do with toys or toy destroyer but this bunny from day one is her baby ....it is so cute and she won't even let my mom pretend that she is going to brush it or do something else to it and she will pounce Jack if he even looks at it!

I've seen this chicken before.  Does she have any other toys that are made out of this same type of material?  I know that Sophie is very fond of this particular type toy and my sister's dogs are the same.  Something about the soft feel of the rubber.

Good girl Peri!  I think it is entirely possible that she is feeling the new vibe.

Maybe she is picking up your "maternal vibes" and acting them out!  I've heard our dogs are our mirrors! :) Whatever it is, it is VERY sweet. Tara has ONE of her stuffies that she has chosen not to kill and babies it instead. I have no clue why.

Kong has a toss toy that looks like a rabbit and for the last few weeks Tank has carried it around like a baby.  Everything else is destroyed but the rabbit. That he only licks.  The ears are perfect and even the tags are not chewed on.   In the afternoon he will sleep with it between his paws.  It's the only thing he guards from Sully and, at time, I have to put it up before things get serious.   Everything else including food is just fine but not the rabbit.  Seems odd this just developed (he turned 1 in May) but if it makes him happy, I'm happy.
