Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi there,,, this is my first blog and I thought i would share with everyone a funny habit that Gunther, my big doodle boy, has. When just about anybody comes into the house he will do one of two things,,, he either goes and grabs something to carry in his mouth,,, just about anything will do,,, or he will go around and behind the person entering and push between their legs until they let him through. I have always gotten the impression this is his 'special' way of getting a hug from them. Our poor little paper girl has been picked right up off her feet several times!

Murphy always has something in his mouth when someone comes to the door, Its hard to bark with a stuffed duck in your mouth! When Murph was little (I'm not really sure when that was) and taking puppy classes,

I taught him "peekaboo"....to come from behind and sit between my legs. (this helped him calm down and me control him).
NOW he is 99 lbs and 29 inches at the withers. My college age sons and their friends live in fear of Murphy and Peekaboo. They seem to be his favorite target...and he gets soooo excited and he can run so doodly fast. Its almost like tunnel in agility,

Wow,,, I see Gunther is not the only one doing this!! Haha,,, he will do it to the pizza delivery guy or anyone,, even little old ladies,,, I really do have to watch him. I don't try very hard to stop him though,,,, now if my husband were to start that...... ROFL!!

Tara is a mini and has her own tunneling technique. When someone is sitting down she likes to tunnel under their knees (she goes between their lower legs and the chair). Her favorite place to do it is in the bathroom if someone is on the toilet!! What can I say...I guess she likes to live dangerously! LOL!

Remi does these exact things as well!

I had a lab/irish setter mix for 15 yrs. and she would always bring visitors a toy or something she could carry and present to them. Her way of making friends maybe :-)

Koda does that, both in front and from the back... we like to think that it is his way of giving us hugs... he does it only to us, when he is extremely happy to see us when we return home.

My dog does this at the beach to anyone who is standing with their legs slightly open. They all seem to love it so I guess that it is okay with me. I call it a bridge movement and she goes again and again...maybe she needs her sides itched!

I call it "tunnel" and I had to teach Webber to do it!

Our girls do something similar and they do it to DH and I as well all the time. Only difference is our girls come from the front and go between our legs. They will go in a circle, in the front, out the back, around and through the front again. They will go over and over. DH calls it "noodleing!
