Pocket & Pancakes - Pocket's first dig

My first blog post! I just had to share . . .

I was just sitting on the couch and noticed Pocket going into the fireplace, acting sort of strangely. I asked him, "what are you doing?" and he promptly ran to the other room, so I thought nothing of it. Then a few minutes later, he jumps on the couch where his blanket is, and starts digging into to it. I tell him to stop, he flings a corner of it over and runs away. I then went to re-adjust his blanket and find a buried pancake! He had stolen the silver dollar sized pancakes leftover from breakfast off the counter! So, I then go to check out the fireplace, and there is another hidden pancake behind the grate, being saved for a later consumption! Then I see him waiting to be let outside, and so I open the door and he runs to the corner of the yard and starts digging (the first time I have ever seen him dig! He must've thought this was extra special treasure!) and he puts a pancake in there, and then covers the hole using his nose!

WHAT A CHEEKY DOOD! Here is the aftermath, a dirty little mug.

Pocket, what a smart doodle you are!!!!....Making sure you have an extra treat buried in a different place in case of an emergency treat need!!!....But I don't think I could have held out, I love pancakes, and with or without syrup, they would have been gone in a flash...My Mom knows that when I disappear I have taken something I shouldn't have so she comes looking for me. she says my middle name is trouble, I thought it was Wendell, but I know she loves me and only wants to make sure I don't eat things I shouldn't. My mom says that picture of you is the bestest...Like Christine said, Got Guilt....Your friend Oliver

I think this is completely amazing. This is a Doodle with tremendous restraint...and so smart too. Love the picture. Pocket has "guilt" written all over that dirty (but adorable) face.

That showed a lot of restraint to not eat those pancakes. I don't know how you did it, Dood.
I have been on a diet for 3 weeks (the vet said I'm too fluffy at 101 lbs WTD? I'm just big boned). If I found those pancakes there would have been nothing left....even if I didn't have syrup.
