Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

For those of you with only 1 dog and thinking about adding another...a little reality check :-) In the list of pros and cons to a multi-dog household...one of the cons is "more poop to pick up."

Well I recently calculated exactly what this means for my 2 labradoodles + a border collie and here is the math:

Photobucket

2-3 poops per day X 3 dogs =

-- 42 - 63 poop piles per week
-- 180 - 270 poop piles per month
-- 2,160 - 3,240 poop piles per year -- don't worry we never go this long between scoops ;-)

Now do you want more than one doodle???

I can't believe I have a photo of him pooping either ... but I was taking photos of his new haircut and well...nature called =) Plus I think he's the cutest thing even when he's pooping!

You go Samantha...you better demand the royal butt wiping!

I can't believe you have a pictureof your doodle pooping!! I have definitely noticed the increase in poop picking frequency required since getting our second doodle. Our garden is not large so we have to 'collect' at least every other day. The poop bag bill is getting expensive!!

If we don't feed them or give them water, 50 miles will be nothing!! LOL
I bring Samantha Quilted Charmin - the only one she likes. Nothing too good to wipe her behind - she is so spoiled!

Good idea, Adrienne. We love road trips - about 50 miles. Do you think they can hold it? My guys also think hotel TP is not soft enough!

Here is one way to eliminate (no pun intended) the poop pick up in the yard - teach your Doodle to poop in the ocean - of course, if you live near one LOL!! Ths Doodle pooped in the water all weekend in Dewey. Her Dad told me she used the ocean becuase the hotle toilet paper was too rough - how's that for a well trained pup?!?!?!

Yea, 4 is scary. We will have little Ned and then 3 dogs ranging from 52 - 80 pounds for 4 1/2 days. The good and the bad is that our back yard is pretty small so lots of poop could get stepped in and tracked around however it is easier to find and pick up. We have "contracted" with the often-at-home son to run La Roi down the street and then pull him up the hill on his skateboard several times during day between his school and work because of that small backyard. LaRoi is not yet mellow at ALL.

I never really liked math before but this makes it worse. So I mist decide....1 scoop or 2!

Adina- That's a funny thing. I agree - 2 doodle poop is not so bad but when #3 comes to visit, goodness the poop bag gets very heavy - a normal plastic grocery bag just doesn't work - it will break during the week. I always pick up poop every a.m. and usually once around 4 and that's with just 2 doodles. It's OK in summer but the spring cleanup is really a mess. It's a small price to pay though - 2 doods is great.

LOL Nancy! I hear ya! I usually do a BETTER job of scooping in a timely manner when guest doggies stay--because they are usually pups who run ALL OVER the yard and I don't want poop tracks =)
With 4 math is scary beyond 3-4 days!

I agree. But, to me, it was the third dog that put me over the poop pile. We will be babysitting over the weekend and that will make 4! Do the math!!!
