Well spring is starting to come around finally. Up in NorthBay Canada there is still a bit on the ground and in piles from snow removal. But the snow in my sons backyard is gone. This is getting to be a bit of a problem for my son as his 4 month old great dane puppy has always pooped on snow!! She will not go pee or poo in the yard anymore. They have a trail system close to thier house they use alot and there is only little patches of snow close to the tree bottoms. Zee the puppy has to find a snowy spot big enough to do her business!!! Once the trail has no snow they will have to go to a school yard that has a pile of snow where they often play ball. After that pile is gone he is wondering what she will do. Great danes are stubborn little things. I suggest he buy a big snow cone machine and Zee can make them yellow!!

Banjo came to us last March and our dwindling snow at the time was his preferred "poop place"....we were in a bit of a panic when it disappeared but he finally figured out he had to make do with pine needles.   We're doing the same thing now....the snow it slowly going and he's "re-learning" his place.

Thats too funny!!! My little mini golden doodle is 3 1/2 months old and does the same thing. We live in northern WI and our snow is going fast. I've trained him to go potty on command but now it takes him forever to find his spot without the snow.

Great Danes are not the only ones who have issues with this!  Doodles do as well especially one little female doodle named Phoebe.  We deal with it with the change of every season...from the snow melting (her favorite place to poop), to the grass growing (freaks her out and all she wants to do is eat it, not poop on it), to the leaves falling (can't poop on those as they crunch).  It takes us a long time to get her re-acclimated to each change in the weather.  I wish him luck!

Hate to break this to you Lorraine, but your DS is going to have to move to the arctic circle!  I am sure you will miss him.
