Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Sunday my husband noticed a lump on Axl's right side by the end of his rib cage. Our mobile vet came on Tuesday & didn't think it was anything to worry about. We took Axl to our other vet (our mobile vet only does vaccinations and minor bloodwork). The vet took a fluid sample & the test came back with not so good news. There were "angry" cells with "multiple nuclei". So today we had the lump removed for additional pathology testing. Poor guy has a nice bald patch and a 3" incision. Luckily the stitches are internal & dissolvable so he shouldn't lick or scratch too much. Doesn't need the satellite dish cone, but he is wearing one of my daughter's old tee shirts in case he does try to get at the incision. I'll have to post a picture of that! Limited exercise for the next 3-5 days. Hopefully we'll hear back from the vet sooner than the 5-7 business days they tell you it takes to get lab results. Fingers crossed it's just a cyst & hope they removed anything bad during surgery!!

Yippee, no worries. So happy it was good news.
That is terrific news. I was worried from what you said about the biopsy. Just necrotic tissue--yippee.
Yay, YAY!!!! So happy for this good news!
OMD, I have been hoping and praying Axl would be fine. Thank you so much for posting. What a huge, huge relief!
GREAT NEWS! Axl's test came back from the lab. Not cancer or anything serious. Apparently he had some sort of blood clot and the tissue became neucrotic (?) So it was a mass of dead cells & tissue. The vet had removed all of the mass so there's nothing that has to be done post-op. YAY!!! Now if his fur will just grow back nicely...
Keeping a good thought for you and Axl.
Praying for good news!
I am sorry for Axl and hope the test results come back as a simple cyst.
Hoping for the best Axl boy! Pawsitive thoughts headed your way.
