Poor Little Phoebe

Well, we had another race to the vet's this morning after a little bathroom issue. All while trying to race to school and to a doctor appointment for myself as well--all within an hour. Phoebe was supposed to go to puppy daycare for the afternoon as I was chaperoning a trip for my son but she ended up staying in the hospital ward instead! She had some impacted stool and then the vet tested and found an overgrowth of bacteria AGAIN! She is once again on antibiotics--I cannot believe she is on more than off. It is terrible and so sad. She also is wearing a cone and her little bottom was shaved some--poor little Phoebe.

Good point, Adrianne. She keeps telling me that 'this is sometimes a puppy thing' and that the dogs tend to outgrow it. I am heading back there tomorrow for Phoebe's grooming so I will ask for a further explanation.

Why don't you ask YOUR doctor what he would do if a human had this type bacteria problem.

Maybe some acidophilus would help? I think you can just give her a capsule of the human kind. I did this with my doodle when she was on antibiotics.

Sorry to hear Phoebe is not doing well...did the Vet tell you what is causing this bacterial growth and how you can avoid this from happening again. Hope you all are doing better soon...

Thanks! She has been suffering from some form of bacterial growth since we got her on March 1st. The poor thing has the cone on again! Thankfully, she is fabulous about it or a hellish would be even more so.

I feel so sorry for Phoebe...and your family. Why do these things always happen at the worst possible times? Do they say what the cause was? I certainly hope she is feeling better.
