Puppy reunion at 5 months old!

I just had the pleasure of attending a puppy reunion!  Back in June, I hosted 7 week old pups for a week and they all went off to new homes and grew and grew! This Saturday, the owner of the momma dog, who had the pups at her house for 7 weeks before they came to me thought it would be fun to get them all together again. What fun the dogs had--running and chasing, playing and hanging out--some have had haircuts and others are very fluffy still, some are bigger, some quite small! It was great to compare and see all the different personalities come out. Here are some pictures. The breeder was there with me and she brought her mini-labradoodle who is brown and white (3 months old) so you will see her in the group shot too.

We have kind of a cooperative going on--the breeder raises pups at her house and I am hired to raise some at my house (2-3 litters per year)  but, in this case, the momma dog's owner had bred goldens in the past so she asked to raise her dog's litter. Then, at the 7th week, they came to me because I live closer to the breeder and I have experience working with the new families when they pick up the pups--I know what the breeder wants them to learn before they leave with the pup. So, they came here, which gave them a bit more experience with new places and the breeder came over to see them and make a final decision about which ones would be breeding dogs. Then the new families came here to pick them up a week later--it worked because the 3 of us get along well and know how to coordinate!

They are so cute! And it looks so fun! I wish Zoe's and bend siblings had reunions.
If you don't mind me asking I'm a little confused with the situation. Why did nt the breeder have them all 8 wks?
