Rosco was outside going potty (#1) and Boca was outside tearing into some kind of dirty rag.  I banged on the back window to disturb Boca's destruction...which ended up disturbing Rosco's pee and he came back in...unfinished..and just as he was about to lie down on the living room rug I noticed pee dribbles on the rug.  And there were MORE in the back entry.  Eewwww.

A day later Rosco went out to pee again and Boca immediately jumped on him and started grabbing his ears. This made him squeak and he ended up finishing on the concrete path.  Eewwww.

While we're on the subject of going potty.  Natalie totally knows when they are doing that outside.  We'll look out the window and she'll see a dog squat and point and say "Potty".  Last week I took her and Rosco on a walk and once we'd arrived on our local college's campus I let Natalie out of her stroller and Rosco sniffed around on leash.  He stopped to pee and as I tried to usher Natalie away from where he was going she pointed and said "potty".  Hee heee.

Rosco and Boca and Natalie and I were in the back yard.  I usually don't let Natalie play out there much because 1) it's usually muddy and 2) if there aren't a bunch of doggy piles sprinkled through the yard there are at least homeopathic ones and 3) Dogs run fast and toddlers are unstable on their feet.  But Natalie kept calling out "ball" and wanted so bad to throw the balls for the dogs so I said...what's the harm? I'm right here with her!  Bad idea.  The dogs just have no sense of their size or of Natalie's fragile little self.  So she got knocked over (not bad) a couple times.  I didn't like that so I put Rosco into a sit stay and then thought I could just have Natalie throw for Boca.  Bad idea again.  Since Natalie's can only throw the ball about 3 inches from herself...Boca ends up leaping RIGHT THERE.  So Natalie got knocked down and THEN trampled on as Boca bounced around after the ball.  Natalie was not actually injured but she cried as though she was.  So that was the end of that.  Only throwing balls from mommy's arms or from her swing I guess.  I'm not sure there IS a simple way of training a dog to mind a child's space.  I think they either 'get it' or don't.

Yesterday I took Boca out to a friend's house to work her in obedience around my friend's dog.  When we came back we came in the back door and Rosco immediately escaped out the door and 'hid' on the back steps.  Uh-oh.  He's guilty of something.  Sure enough an empty bread bag lay on the kitchen floor.

Love these random micro-blogs!  You really have your hands full with that threesome!  So cute that Natalie knows when the dogs are going potty.  :)
