We lost our 3 year old goldendoodle Zola due to Epilepsy.  She was such an amazing puppy and brought us so much joy.  She loved toys, the dog park and her 5 year old sister Luna.  Our house feels so empty and our hearts are shattered.

What a terrible loss, so sorry.

I am glad you found Luna a new playmate, and happy that Luna is recovering from her loss.

I am so happy to hear about your new puppy and that she has made all the difference to Luna. I am also sure Zola is very much missed! Good luck!!

Thank you all.  Luna had been very depressed, she wasn't playing and very mopey. The opportunity came for a puppy and we decided to go for it.  Our new little girl Nori has been here since 3/17 and has brought the light back into Luna.  She is playing again and wagging her tail.  We miss Zola like crazy, she was such a good girl.

Hugs and tears for you and your family.  It always so hard to loose a beloved dog, but three years young is really sad.  May time and good memories heal your hearts.

Sorry, April.  She was too young.  How is Luna doing?  If she was accustomed to having another dog in her home, she may be going through some things of her own.  We have found that when dogs are raised with other dogs, they are very depressed at the loss of their companion.  At least it was that was with our dogs.  Chin up, you will get through it just as we all do.  BTW, have you read the book, Where the Red Fern Grows.  It is a young adult book about this very subject.
