Rosco has lost his breakfast privelages...again!

Consistently setting an alarm to help me remember to feed Rosco breakfast paid off and a few months ago I actually started remembering on my own. My other two doggies only get fed supper. But I switched Rosco to two meals because he's big, deep chested, and wolfs down his food---risk factors for bloat.

However for the past 2 weeks he's been waking up earlier than usual in anticipation of breakfast. He went from not opening his eyes until I left the bedroom to waking up and harumphing to be let out about an hour before I get up. Did he have to go potty? Nope...just wanted to beg for breakfast. Begging = extra attention, nudging for pets and attention, lying down as if he's bowing to me, acting like he loves me extra and sprinting onto his feet the second I move or get up: "You're going to the food place, right momma?"

He did this earlier in his life too...which was the main reason he initially got demoted to 1 meal a day like the rest.

So now...breakfast is gone again...to be replaced by lunch.

Rosco was hoping for lunch - but he wanted lunch in addition to breakfast and dinner.

Hahaha! You just wait my dear... You have only 6 months left of good sleep for the next several years - so just enjoy!

Maybe, just maybe, Rosco is suffering from Couvade Syndrome; Changes in sleeping and eating habits, extra sensitivity to moods and mood swings.

He may also just think you are more beautiful than ever. He feels your glow and just wants to be with you. Maybe Rosco knows more about this baby than you think :)

I am sure he will enjoy his lunch even better. After all-you need your sleep. Enjoy it while you can cause in 6 mths...you may be awake to give Rosco a midnight snack, and breakfast. Just kidding ??.... LOL

Poor Rosco but I don't blame you for switching him to lunch instead of breakfast. I would have done this too under these conditions.

And he was sooo sad and pathetic. Pressing his cute little chin on the edge of the bed (as he always does in the morning) and staring at me with his tail circling at half mast. I tried to get a photo with my phone but it was too dark in the room. He should put on some burlap and hold a sign that reads "Will look cute for food!"

Rosco won't be happy about that for awhile. Amazing how they get into the routines and then try to adjust our routines to fit their schedules. Too smart for their own good.
