Today I called Petsmart grooming salon to make an appointment for Charlie for her hair cut. Charlie has been going there ever since her first hair cut, and her groomer has been wonderful with her. She always call to let me know if she have to be cut shorter, or gives her a break if it gets too much for her... She always cut Charlie's hair the way I ask her to, and knew how I like it. Charlie is a reactive girl, but LOVES her groomer, and she loved Charlie. Even when we were just shopping there, she would make a point to come say hello to us, fuss at Charlie, etc...

Well, when the person answered the phone, I told her that I was calling to make an appointment for Charlie with Roxanne. And then, the lady said, " Roxanne is no longer working with us."

When I was finaly able to say something, I said " Well, that will be a problem." The lady said that because of the policy, they are not allowed to tell us where she works now.... :-(

It may sound so silly, but I am so sad..... I don't know what to do for Charlie's hair cut now.... :-(

I called Petsmart today and spoke with the manager. He said that its been difficult for them since she had quite few steady clientele. He suggested that I call back tomorrow to speak with the salon manager to see if he could match Charlie up with someone who is equaly good technically and dog handling wise, possibly someone who knows her as well. For a mean while, I am going to roam the store... Brucegirl, that is an excellent idea!!! I may even leave an envelope suggesting that is the owed money, but actually with my phone number!!! ( Now it started to sounds like Jr. High girl who has a crash on a boy!!) I called few Petco's, tried to make an appointment with "Roxanne". But they tried to force me to make an appointment, and was difficult for me to make them say wethere or not Roxanne worked there until the end. Joanne, just for the record, I can get bit all I want now. I can never get Rabies any more Hahaha!!! I just dont have a tag to show for it....
But the lesson that I learn is that, I should have gotten Charlie to get used to a couple of different groomers for the instance like this...

Thank you for posting this. I just found someone I love, at Petco in Paramus NJ. I should get her number. We learn so much from each other. I hope you find her. I would go with detective work. Most people would be honest with you.

Gus had his training at Pet Smart wonderful trainer our group was like family. We'd get together on weekends for play time it was so much fun. One day I went in and Wendy was no longer there! Since Gus had been through all the classes he has free training for life. One of the gals in our "little family" worked at Pet Smart and was Wendy's freind, she would not tell me where Wendy was........ This was over a year ago. The other day I was at Petco and there was Wendy she's their head trainer! She explained once you leave Pet Smart you are not allowed to contact anyone to inform them where you've gone to. It's been over a year since I've been to Pet Smart I'm now paying for training again. I'd call Petco if you have one in your area.

What if you talked to the Grooming Manager and explained all the things that you liked about Roxanne and then asked if there was another groomer who could provide the same degree of customer service?

How about going into PetSmart and saying to an employee "Do you know how I could possibly get in touch with Roxanne? I OWE HER SOME MONEY."

Can you try to find her on Facebook? Maybe get one of the other groomers to tell you where she works??
